APRIL 1997 REPORT FOR

During March, the paper entitled NEAR-FIELD OPTICS APPLIED TO
NEAR-INFRARED IMAGING was presented at the Pittsburgh Conference in
Atlanta, Georgia. Time allowing, this presentation will be made available
in HTML format in the near future. In addition to attending Pittcon '97,
much of March was spent preparing another presentation for UK's
Computational Sciences in April. Finally the end of March also saw the
beginning of learning a third computational electromagnetic technique
known as the Finite Element Method (FEM). Hopefully, this technique will
also be utilized to model the Near-Field Scanning Optical Microscope
(NSOM).
