FEBRUARY 1997 REPORT FOR
W. CHARLES SYMONS, III
January was primarily spent writing and submitting a fellowship proposal
for the University of Kentucky Center for Computational Sciences. This
year's fellowship proposal is actually a renewal from last year's proposal
showing significant progress towards the previously stated goals. To this
end, emphasis is place upon the development of a second Near-Field
Scanning Optical Microscope (NSOM) model utilizing the Finite Difference
Time Domain (FDTD) algorithm in addition to the previously developed
Moment Method model. Additionally, in order to fulfill the fellowship
requirements, I have been scheduled to give a Brown-Bag seminar for
Computational Sciences on April 19, 1997.
