Interpreting the Results

The test result must be read under good lighting as soon as you have completed the test. The test pad should be turned so that the words "Test Result" are at the bottom. There should be a blue spot right under the words "Reference Spot." If there is no reference spot, you should save the urine you collected and make sure you have performed the test correctly, in order, and timed steps 4 and 5 precisely. Also, make sure the room you were performing the test in was at least 68 degrees F. If you have done all of this and still need help, you can call the technical assistance line. Your test result will be directly above the words "Test Result" on the test pad. If the spot is a lighter shade of blue than the reference spot or there is no spot, your test is negative. You have not had the LH surge. If the spot is the same color as, or darker than, the reference spot, then your test is positive. This means your LH surge has started. You can stop testing when you get a positive result. The day you get a positive result and the next day are the days when it is most likely that you will become pregnant after intercourse.

If you do not get a positive result, this can be due to one of a few reasons. You may not have ovulated this month. Testing may have been too early or late in the cycle. Also, urine collection may have been done at the wrong time of the day. For this test you should NOT collect your first morning urine. The best time for collection is between 10:00AM and 8:00PM. If you do not believe that any of these reasons are the cause of the negative results, call the technical assistance line or contact your physician.

Limitations to the Test

This test is not meant to be used as a form of contraception. This is because intercourse 1-2 days prior to ovulation may lead to pregnancy and this test only predicts ovulation about 20-44 hours prior to the event.

The results will be inaccurate if you are currently pregnant, if you have started menopause, or after receiving an injection of hCG.

The OvuQUICK Self-Test kit should not be used for longer than 50 days after Bottle B has been prepared.
